[VIDEO] PJ & Duncan - Let's Get Ready to Rhumble (Live)

A bit of a tongue in cheek this post, however, north-east rappers would do well to bear in mind that these two went on to a platinum selling album and are officially the biggest selling hiphop artists from the North-East. The LP "Psyche" was, undoubtedly, a commercial rap record. Obviously aimed at a younger audience, and riding the success of TV Show "Byker Grove", they actually managed to make Geordie Rapping mainstream and went on to be two of the most successful entertainers ever from the region. I guarantee a lot of you will remember this track with great fondness. I know I do. Don't hate. Big up Ant & Dec!!

[NEWS] SPEAKEASY EVENTS and DON'T FLOP ROUND-UP

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came to Don't Flop Newcastle. The team were overwhelmed with all the enthusiasm and support that the North-East offered, and the atmosphere was CRAZY in the venue. For the most part, people had mad positive feedback and, save for the few arseholes who couldn't handle their drink heckling from the back (you know who you are you wasteman MCs), the night ran pretty smoothly with barely any trouble. This is an achievement in itself for a hip hop event in Newcastle, so well done to you the crowd!

The battles were excellent, with Suus and Deffinition dominating in front of their home crowd, despite the opposition having some great bars also. Footage from the event will be uploaded to the Don't Flop youtube on the 18th March for you all to check if you missed it.

However, that's not all for Speakeasy. Oh no. We're back on the first Friday of EVERY month at the Hyena, bringing you the finest battle MCs from around the country. Our first event is MAY and we've got some great events lined up over the rest of the year so please, make sure you get down, support, and take part. Any local MCs who want to battle at future events, please get in touch with either Speakeasyncl@Gmail.com or the lads over at No Beef who are collaborating with us to bring you the best of the locals. Again, thanks to all who came down to Don't Flop, and we'll see you all in May for Round 2.
